With in-house customs brokerage, trucking, husbandry, and port agency services, we deliver seamless support from arrival to departure.
Our Story
Founded in 2003 by Bahamian entrepreneur Jeremy Cafferata, Freeport Ship Services began with a simple idea: ships arriving in Freeport deserved local expertise they could rely on.
Built on strong relationships, local knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional service, the company steadily expanded from a ship agency into a full-service maritime and logistics partner. Over two decades later, those same values continue to guide every vessel call, cargo movement, and client relationship.
While the company has grown, its foundation remains the same – a Bahamian company built on reliability, experience, and pride.
What began as a ship agency quickly grew. Recognising the need for seamless logistics support, the company expanded early on to include its own trucking and customs brokerage operations—creating a more complete service for vessels arriving at the port.
Over the past two decades, Freeport Ship Services has grown alongside the maritime industry in Grand Bahama. Today it supports vessels across all ports of entry in Freeport and plays a key role in operations at the Grand Bahama Shipyard, working with many of the world’s leading cruise lines and commercial operators.
